The Real Deal

Hey guys,
Sorry I didn't post yesterday. Totally just spaced! Anyways, I was supposed to write about my new youtube show since that is what won for the little poll to the left, but an even more exciting event happened in my life that I had to blog about. This morning, I was given the oppurtunity to attend a change of command ceremony at the local air force base for my very dear friend Lieutenant Colonel Joe. Haha I don't want to put his last name on the interenet. It was quite awesome to say the least. The pilot who sang the national anthem was trained in opera which was of course impressive, and I got to miss a day of school, which is always a plus. The best part, however, was the quick tour of the offices before the ceremony because I got the oppurtunity to "fly" a U2 plane on a simulator. Joe said I did good, but I think he was just being nice... I did manage to keep the plane at the correct altitude, but at the end I was told to crash the spy plane... It was quite amusing because they had a clip of Homer Simpson saying, "Oh crap," when the simulator crashed. It was also pretty cool because they had classified mission training going on in the simulator next to us...
I am honored, to say the least, to have been invited, as well as, to be friends with such a dignified man. When he gave his speech, he had such diplomacy. It was also pretty cool because he mentioned me in his speech, he was thanking us for coming out, and he thanked my mom for constantly being there for him. I have such cool friends!
I promise tomorrow I will post about the show, especially since I am supposed to work on it tomorrow with Amee. Who knows!!!!
A quote to ponder:
" In God we trust. All others we monitor." - U2 pilot moto
4 more days of school!

The Rundown

Just a quick post. It looks like my next post will be about my new television show seeing as that is what won on the poll. Just a quick verification, it isn't on television, it will be on youtube, and it isn't a show I am watching it is a show I am making with two of my friends and other friends of mine will be making guest appearances. Yearbooks officially came out, which means school is practically out. Only five more days. Distribution is crazy though. I am definitely going to have a hard time in yearbook next year without all the awesome seniors. I will try and post something authentic later today, but I may not have time seeing as I have to finish reading Lance Armstrong's autobiography. Ugh! I hate AR. Anyway, post a quick comment in response to the following quote. Tell me what you think....
"The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." — Mark Twain

P.S. A quick shoutout to my friends J and A. I know life sucks right now, but I promise it will get better. Just don't give up hope....

JJ Abram, I love you...

He has done it again folks. JJ Abrams, television and film extraordinaire, has impressed me, yet again with his most recent film Star Trek. I went to see the film last night ( a little too late, I know, but better late than never, right?) after learning that my parents had seen the film while I was gone camping and loved it. Amee and I went and saw it, and while she was a little overwhelmed by the large amount of science fiction, we both thoroughly enjoyed the film. The best character by far was Mr.Scott played by Simon Pegg. He was hilarious. I especially loved when his sole concern for the future was whether or not the future has sandwiches. How brilliant. Of course Chris Pine, who played Kirk was quite attractive as well! I hope I get to see them at Comic Con this summer. That would be terribly exciting.
I hope you have an amazing Tuesday! I only have seven more days of school!!! Ahhh!!
Oh, I suppose I will leave you with a quote to ponder....

"Those who dance are considered insane by those who cannot hear the music."
George Carlin

Do you believe in fairies?

I promised you that I would analyze the quote I left yesterday, so here goes nothing. When I read this quote a scene from the most recent Peter Pan comes to mind, when Tinkerbell is dying and the only way to bring her back to life is to chant, "I do believe in fairies. I do! I do!" Great movie by the way.
I don't know why exactly this comes to mind. Probably because if the lost boys didn't believe so strongly in Tinkerbell she would no longer exist. Does this mean that if we, as a human race decided to stop believing in something it would cease to exist?
Interesting to think about. Anyway, to me, the quote is saying that if you live your life only seeing things you know to be true (famine, war, death) then you won't notice all the wonderfully good aspects of life out there.
When I was watching Gilmore Girls yesterday, Lorelei was speaking about how if you start watching The Today Show when it first starts, and then watch it all the way through, the topics discussed on the show get happier as the morning goes on. She explains that this is only so that people know the harsh parts of the world, when they first wake up, but after they have gotten ready and are going off to work, the news plays happier stories. This is solely because we would be too scared to go outside otherwise.
I think I just got off topic, but let's try and connect the two, shall we?
The today show has found those small amazing bits of happiness in everyday life. Can't we do this as well?
So, today try and find the goodness around you, and once you have found it, please comment on it. I know we could all use some cheering up....
Have a great weekend. I will be out in the woods with no internet access so no more posts until Monday!

Mercury Is Rising

Hello all,
Well it is official. We are now in the hundreds in my hometown and for those of you who live here, I know you get how annoying and exciting that is. It truly is bittersweet for the temperatures to get this high because it only means one thing... Summer is here! Although we still have ten more school days left, our favorite time of year is just around the corner, and with it comes some awesome new things in my life.
I have decided to use the few breaks I have this summer to expand my knowledge creatively. My friends Amelia, Chris, and I are going to be making a short television show to go on youtube. The first episode should be out in June. I can't explain much yet, there will be a post on it later, but it is exciting. There is also the possibility of my being in a band. A friend of mine has invited me to be lead vocals. Who knows how that will turn out!
Also, since Chuck is coming back for a third season, my goal is to get lots of friends and family involved in the show, as well as, to touch up on my knowledge of the show, which will include my journey to San Diego for the 40th annual Comic Con!! Josh Schwartz, executive producer and co-creator of Chuck, has done a few interviews since the announcement of the shows renewal, one of which stated that they, "have something very, very fun planned for Comic-Con this year," which means that I will get to see them!!!! How thrilling!!
I guess that is all the time I have seeing as Elise will be here to pick me up for school in like ten minutes, but I will leave you with a quote to ponder, which next time (probably later today) I will give my interpretation on....

"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it."
Roald Dahl

Hope all is well,

Thought for the day...

So yesterday in Chemistry we watched a documentary called 11th hour with Leonardo DiCaprio. It was quite depressing saying how we are all going to become extinct and the Earth will begin to look like Venus. While I was viewing this I had a sort of epiphany. What if the reason the world has famines and viruses like AIDS and cancer is because the Earth is trying to balance out the over-population issue on its own. If this is the case should we really try and find that cure for cancer, or send aid to other countries? After pondering this I decided the answer is yes, solely because if I were starving I wouldn't care about the Earth's future seeing as I wouldn't be alive to see it. Sometimes we must focus on the present to provide a better future.
With that being said I would like to leave you all with a quote to ponder:

"Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love."Rainer Maria Rilke
Have a wonderful Wednesday,

What the Chuck!!

Okay, so if you know me, you know that my life obsession is Chuck. It is a brilliantly dynamic show full of awesome cast and crew. Recently, the show was on the bubble of whether or not it was coming back for a third season. Today, NBC officially announced that the show was coming back, but with a slight drawback.... We have to wait until March 2010, after the Olympics to watch a new episode of Chuck again....
I am pissed to say the least. This change in airings is good because then the show will have a good time slot, and no budget cuts will be made, BUT does NBC honestly think that every viewer who watches Chuck is as loyal as me???? Who do they think is going to remember the show 10 months from now?

Sorry for the vent. I hope this means they will still be at Comic Con this summer, which by the way I will be attending!! Hehe...

I strongly reccommend that you check the show out. The entire first season is available for free at thewb.com and the second half of season two is available at nbc.com.

Until next time,
Bee
