The Real Deal

Hey guys,
Sorry I didn't post yesterday. Totally just spaced! Anyways, I was supposed to write about my new youtube show since that is what won for the little poll to the left, but an even more exciting event happened in my life that I had to blog about. This morning, I was given the oppurtunity to attend a change of command ceremony at the local air force base for my very dear friend Lieutenant Colonel Joe. Haha I don't want to put his last name on the interenet. It was quite awesome to say the least. The pilot who sang the national anthem was trained in opera which was of course impressive, and I got to miss a day of school, which is always a plus. The best part, however, was the quick tour of the offices before the ceremony because I got the oppurtunity to "fly" a U2 plane on a simulator. Joe said I did good, but I think he was just being nice... I did manage to keep the plane at the correct altitude, but at the end I was told to crash the spy plane... It was quite amusing because they had a clip of Homer Simpson saying, "Oh crap," when the simulator crashed. It was also pretty cool because they had classified mission training going on in the simulator next to us...
I am honored, to say the least, to have been invited, as well as, to be friends with such a dignified man. When he gave his speech, he had such diplomacy. It was also pretty cool because he mentioned me in his speech, he was thanking us for coming out, and he thanked my mom for constantly being there for him. I have such cool friends!
I promise tomorrow I will post about the show, especially since I am supposed to work on it tomorrow with Amee. Who knows!!!!
A quote to ponder:
" In God we trust. All others we monitor." - U2 pilot moto
4 more days of school!
