Second the Best!

Hey!
So, the second episode of GP is live!! It is called procrastinate. This one is definitely better than the first... You should all check it out. Stay tuned for next wednesday when you see what my text was about. It's nice and juicy!
Oh, btw, I just found out that a girl I went to elementary school with (she is two years younger) is being accused of murder. How scary is that? She allegedly murdered her mother with her 19 year old boyfriend. I definitely remember her being a little strange. Anyways, my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. Hopefully this whole mess will be sorted out. If you want to check out her story just click here.

Marilyn.

I have always loved the glamour of old Hollywood. Stars like Cary Grant (who was the same birthday as me), Katharine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire, and Jimmy Stewart have always fascinated me. They just seemed to have it all together. Now, I realize this is because there were no tabloids back then. Stars did not have to worry about tabloids, they were simply glamorous. Marilyn Monroe never used to fascinate me, until a few days ago. As you probably can tell, I love quotes. I believe that words are the one thing you have complete control over, and if you take that responsibility on, you can come up with some pretty phenomenal things to say. I have recently been browsing through different quotes, and keep finding amazing quotes by Marilyn Monroe. She truly was more than just a sex symbol. Don't get me wrong, she did live up to that reputation, and fully acknowledged what others thought of her, but I am beginning to understand the woman behind the facade. Below, I have provided a few of her quotes. These few words completely changed my opinion of her.
"I knew I belonged to the public and to the world, not because I was talented or even beautiful, but because I had never belonged to anything or anyone else."
“I want to grow old without facelifts... I want to have the courage to be loyal to the face I've made. Sometimes I think it would be easier to avoid old age, to die young, but then you'd never complete your life, would you? You'd never wholly know you”
"If I'd observed all the rules, I'd never have got anywhere. "
"It's often just enough to be with someone. I don't need to touch them. Not even talk. A feeling passes between you both. You're not alone."
"There was my name up in lights. I said, 'God, somebody's made a mistake.' But there it was, in lights. And I sat there and said, 'Remember, you're not a star.' Yet there it was up in lights."
"It's all make believe, isn't it?"
"Dreaming about being an actress, is more exciting then being one. "
"Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul."
What did I tell you? She was soo much deeper than she is given credit for. I am gonna do more research on her, try and find out a little bit more about who she really was.
By the way, if you like Dashboard Confessional, check out The Spill Canvas. They are actually quite amazing.

If today was your last day...

So recently I have been hearing the song by Nickelback called If Today Was Your Last Day, not the best song , but it has made me think. The lyrics say quite simply, "If today was your last day
and tomorrow was too late, could you say goodbye to yesterday? Would you live each moment like your last? Leave old pictures in the past? Donate every dime you have? If today was your last day."
This has gotten me thinking. I believe that this song is asking us if we were to die tomorrow, what actions would we take, but I, having the crazy imagination that I do, decided to look at the song differently. If the world were going to end tomorrow, how would mankind act? Would the world be completely chaotic because everyone decided to be rebellious and do the things they were too scared to do otherwise, or would we be overwhelmed with the monstrosity of the situation and begin to forgive our enemies, make ourselves look better for judgement day? Just think about it...

Now I present a third option. Would we try and deny the inevitable? Would we fight our hardest to keep our race alive?
This seems like it would be a great screenplay. Haha. Unfortunately the basic idea has been used far too many times. I will consider it and get back to you all. In the mean time, what do you think would happen?
Amber, Amee, and I sat down today and mapped out the rest of the first season of GP. The nice thing about producing a webshow is that no one can stop you from making more episodes. The first episode was off to a great start. Within an hour of posting we got 45 views. Only four of them were Amee and I. I apologize for the two minutes of black at the end. We are still just learning. I promise you the rest of the season actually has a storyline. It should be interesting with the perfect blend of comedy and drama. Yup, we are doing a dramedy! If you would like to be a part of our show (Neil, don't worry you will be a part of it), please comment below. We are coming up on a few episodes where it would be useful to have extras, and possible camera help.
I hope you are all doing well! Enjoy the summer vacation!!

Season Two!!

Recently, my dear friend Chelsea finished watching season one of Chuck on The WB's site, and she has already seen the second half of season two on NBC, but she was looking for the beginning of two. Chelsea, you are in look. I have searched for the past two hours, and here are my results. If you click on the episode name below, you will be sent to a site where you can watch the episode legally and free.
Chuck vs. The First Date
Chuck vs. The Seduction
Chuck vs. The Break-Up
Chuck vs. The Cougars
Chuck vs. Tom Sawyer cannot find, but it isn't good....
Chuck vs. The Ex
Chuck vs. The Fat Lady
Chuck vs. The Gravitron essential to plot I will try and find it...
Chuck vs. The Sensei
The last two I still have to find....

Now these are not the best quality, some of them have foreign language subtitles, and I would still recommend just buying them on iTunes, but for those of you who are poor like me, and bored please enjoy. If any of these do not work correctly, let me know, and I will try to find new links for you.

Logan Huntzberger

This evening, Amee and I were watching Gilmore Girls. She randomly commented to me the most brilliant thing I have ever heard. Kyle, I have met my match when it comes to randomness.
This is how Amee described Logan, Rory's weird boyfriend.

Amee- He looks like an annoying frog. You know? With like a blonde wig.
Brenna- I can't even picture an annoying frog. I mean he isn't even green.
Amee- No, like metaphorical.
Brenna- Oh right, a metaphorical annoying frog with a blonde wig.
Amee- Yeah.

And that was it. No one laughed. We just approved of each other. Okay, there was a little laughter.

GP will hopefully be out tomorrow. Let's all cross our fingers that my Mac doesn't hate me anymore than it already does. Just ask Michaela, she witnessed it's evilness.

Lost in the Sound

Now, if you look at the top of the internet browser you have up, you will see that the url for this blog of mine is lostnthesound. I think I should try and explain this a little bit. You see, the sound I am referring to is music, of course, but I didn't want to be too stereotypical. Music is my life, or rather the reason why living is bearable. When I hear a song like "Freeze and Explode" by Cassettes won't listen and I know exactly what it is saying, I feel a little more connected with the world because God knows that their are times where I think that many people on this earth whom I have nothing in common with. I won't ramble on too much today, seeing as I have a lot of editing to do. We are hoping to have the first episode of GP out by the end of this week. When this happens, I will set a link to our youtube account and you can check it out.
Here are some good tunes you should check out:
All the Same by Sick Puppies - nice upbeat song, gets stuck in your head...
Around the Bend by Asteroids Galaxy Tour -from the iPod commercial, good dancing song
Challengers by The New Pornographers - interesting band name, but amazing music
Christmas TV by Slow Club - a christmas song that can be enjoyed any time of the year, great love song
The Con by Teegan and Sara - may be too much for those not used to T and S
Congratulations by Blue October and Imogen Heap - Listen to this with the lights off and your eyes closed, it gives me goosebumps!
Falling in love at a coffee shob by Landon Pigg - nice slow love song
Hip to be Square by Huey Lewis and the News- great song to blowdry your hair to!
That's all I will put up for now!! Check them out on iTunes or youtube. They are all there...
Tell me what types of music you want and the list will be better!!!

What to say?

There really isn't much that is coming to mind as I sit down to write this post. Let me just tell you all what I did today.
The fun all began this morning while I chilled with my big sister. It's so much fun to have my sibblings home, despite what I tell them. We watched Numb3rs, which was very intense. She also helped me with my wardrobe for today's filming of GP. Yup, we shot again today, but today instead of shooting at home, we shot on location, at a local park. Also, a new friend, Amber, came and shot with us today. Her comedic timing was extremely useful. She has definitely improved the show with her presence. Let's see what else did I do today? Chris and I shot some random interviews with each other after Amee left. The first one was good, but then we weren't as good at answering questions. I will definitely post the first one once our youtube account is up and going. I also edited some more of what we have filmed, but my Mac is hating me currently, so I took a break. Instead of editing, I decided to play some more Sims 3. I didn't really get into it though, so now as I am sitting alone at home, I decided to blog and listen to my eclectic playlists on Chuck, my iPod. Haha, believe me I know (weird that was a quote from Chuck. Totally unintentional, what can I say, I am obsessed, and as we know obsessed girls cannot be held responsible for their actions can they. What was that a quote from? ;).
Well, what else can I tell you about? I am incredibly excited for my trip to New York. I get to see my family! I am especially excited to see Sophia, Alex, Andrew, Oscar, Carmen and Andrew Sr. It will be nice to see my second family!
I am gonna go read some fan fiction, but tomorrow I will put up a post on some songs I reccomend. Please comment about what genre of music you would like the songs to be. Who knows, I may not post if I don't get enough comments. I don't know if I even have enough viewers to be making threats, but oh well.

Maawage

So, despite the fact that just a few days ago Zac Levi and Caitlin Crosby's relationship depressed me, now it is acceptable. Why, you may ask? Well, you see in my last day of Hurrianko's class, I went onto bored.com, and had a virtual wedding with Zac. He doesn't know it yet, but we are married. My friend Atrin was the witness. It was a wonderful cyber wedding, just Zac and Me, and of course Atrin. I had to reproduce the certificate because the original link didn't work, so we got remarried today.
Haha. I hope you also picked up on the fact that I said the last day of Hurrianko's because guess what? School is out for summer. To document this occassion, Chris, Amee, and I began to shoot GP today. I am currently working on editing, but Final Cut Express is being pickey. Oh well.
Michaela is home right now, which is exciting because now she can help us by being the videographer tomorrow! I also have to publicly apologize to her because I made her stay up yesterday in order to see my new post, which I accidentally didn't do.... I was too caught up in Sims 3, I mean I started a family yesterday, and now the couple has five kids. Haha, it was their life goal, so don't blame me.
I am considering making a post solely devoted to amazing music. If you want this please let me know. I will only do it if at least three people ask for it, in the comment section. There is also the possibility I will post a poem I recently wrote, who knows.
Finally, Yesterday in PE, my friends wrote down what I was most likely to do. My friend Jason said I was most likely to make butter. Neil, another friend who should be reading this right now, asked me how to make butter. Here is your recipe Neil.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint heavy cream, very cold
  • Pinch salt, optional

Directions

Find a large jar with a tight-fitting lid that will hold the cream about half full. Refrigerate the jar for at least 1 hour. Pour the cream into the cold jar. Tightly secure the lid and shake as hard as possible until chunks of butter start to form, 15 to 30 minutes. Pour into a strainer set over a bowl. The chunks in the strainer are butter, and the liquid in the bowl is buttermilk.

Pour the buttermilk into a clean container, cover, refrigerate, and reserve for another use. Turn the butter into a clean bowl and cover with very cold water. Pour into a strainer, discarding the liquid. Continue rinsing the butter with very cold water until the water runs clear. (The cloudy water is buttermilk which will make the butter turn sour.) When the butter is clean, work with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula to press out any remaining liquid. Discard this liquid. If desired, add salt to the butter. (Salted butter will keep longer.)

Transfer the butter to a clean container for keeping, pressing with a wooden spoon or spatula to dispel any air bubbles. Refrigerate until ready to use.

This is courtesy of foodnetwork.com. Please test out the recipe and tell me how it goes!

I get by with a little help from my friends...

I think I was Jewish in my past life. Now, if Kyle were still here he would give me one of those, " you are ridiculous" looks. If you know Kyle, you know which one I mean. Anyway, let me explain myself. As most of you know, I have a weird philosophy. If one thing goes bad in a day then the whole day is going to end up bad. For example, if you are late to school and get detention, and then later in the day you have a test, you can expect to fail the test. The events in your life are just so intertwined that everything else will go wrong. It is also the same if things are good. If you find out good news in the morning, you can expect that other good things will come throughout the day. Why does this mean I was Jewish? Well, Jews believe that Sabbath starts on the evening of Friday, when the sun sets, and I similarly believe that new days, at least when it comes to luck, begin at sundown. You see yesterday, I posted before the sun went down. The day pretty much sucked, and then when the sun started to set, things became so much better. So yesterday from about 8pm until now, life has been good. This is all because of the amazing people I have in my life, my friends. It all started when the Davis girls, my sisters, came over for dinner yesterday. We discussed Comic con, and watched what life would be like in 2100 (Kyle and Michelle got very into it, Kirstin and I just laughed at them), looked up pictures of pregnant snakes, and surprise surprise, played Sims 3 (thanks to my mother's laptop). My bad mood disappeared with their help.
Then, this morning, my friends saved the day again. Jacob greeted me twice today with giant bear hugs. My photo friends, girls I was scared to have a class with in the beginning of the year, made me realize how much I would miss our bizarre conversations. My friends from Pre-Calc made Most Likely To statements about me, which were all very funny. Then, in yearbook, Lindsay, my Cece, brought so much sunshine to my day, I didn't even remember the clouds outside. Believe me, you will laugh too if you read her lengthy comment on the previous post. I dare all of you to beat the length of her comment.
I socialized with my freshman friends at my Sudan Club end of the year party, and then I headed out on my journey home. While I was walking, a girl from my Chemistry class, someone who I don't really like and rarely ever agree with, pulled over and offered me a ride home. As she dropped me off at my house she yelled out the window, "Don't tell anyone I am nice!"
This reminds me of a quote from some dead president that says," I don't like them. I need to get to know them better." Ask my next-door neighbor Patrick if you want to know the exact quote!!
Overall, I am extremely humbled today by the amount of love I have been shown. Thank you to all of my friends out there. You have all touched my life, and I am proud to know you all.
You meet people who forget you. You forget people you meet. But sometimes you meet those people you can't forget. Those are your 'friends.'- Anonymous

Oh the drama!

Hello friends,
Today is an interesting day. Once on my favorite show, Chuck said, "If I had a blog this would be a very important day." Well this may not be as exciting as his day was seeing as he saved his sister's life and inevitably doomed his own, it still was interesting.School brought new drama (cough cough), my mac brought me drama, and unfortunately Zac Levi brought me drama.
Let's start off with my Mac drama. I am a huge fan of Macs. I purposely mute any PC commercials, they are just annoying. Mac is perfect for what I do, which is generally artsy stuff like movie making, and the occassional game. Today, as some of you know, Sims 3 was released for both the Mac and the PC. I made Kyle drive me to Frys (thanks bro) so that we both could get the new game and experience it since I have been waiting for about two years for it to come out. I got home, put the game into my Mac and BAM!!! It doesn't work on my computer. It keeps telling me "It is not supported on this architecture." ARGH! Why must you do this to me computer?
So, instead of installing the $50 game, I went on to zachary-levi.com, an interesting site, to see if anyone had replied to a recent post of mine. You see recently I have been seing photos of Zac Levi, the star of Chuck and my celeb crush, getting a little too cozy with Caitlin Crosby, a C-list singer whose music video Zac starred in. I questioned the online community if the two were dating and I just got my response. They are. They are in the picture above.
There goes the twins Chelsea!!! I still have to tell Amee because I know she will share my sorrow. If Zac were to date anyone besides me, it should be Yvonne Strahovski. They are always so cute together, on and off set. I know I can't control his life, and what I want is entirely unrealistic, but come on, a girl can dream can't she? Plus, to top it off, he shaved his beard so he now looks like a weird trucker! Oh well, hopefully he will look better by Comic Con.
Sorry for the rant. I am a teenager. I get attached to easily!!!
I hope today was better for the rest of you! Quickly I just want to say thank you to Jacob, Amee, and Chelsea. Jacob, for the bracelet, I love you! Amee for acting high at lunch, that made the day sooo much better, and Chelsea, for writing two seperate entries in my yearbook, and for helping with the drama.
Tell me about your day. I really want to know how life is treating all of you. Was it just bad for me? If it was better for someone else, please tell me. It will make my struggle worth while to know that someone else had a better day because of it. Who knows how those are connected
Something deep for Chris:
"Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."

Please don't kill me

Okay, so I realize that I broke a blog promise. I was supposed to blog on Saturday and Sunday about the topic chosen in my wonderful poll to the left, but I am a delinquent. Anyways, Amee and I worked on our first episode of our youtube show, which Chris will also star in. It is titled Guinea Pigs: Trying out Life, and we lovingly refer to it as GP. The show centers around Amee, Chris and I as unlikely teens who are forced to work together and quickly become friends. I cannot give away too much information, just know that the shows will be about five minutes in length give or take a few. They should be airing sometime in the middle of June, and we will hopefully start shooting next weekend once the script is finalized and school is out because we only have three more days!!! Thrilling, I know.
I hope you will all take out the time to watch the show when it comes out. We are not trying to break any records with it, just to have a little fun this summer, and hopefully give a few of you out there a chuckle.
If you have any specific questions about the show please feel free to ask in the comments section. I will reply to each and every one.
Of course, I will leave you with a quote....This is a little shout out to my sisters. Hehe...
"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by frost."
