I think I was Jewish in my past life. Now, if Kyle were still here he would give me one of those, " you are ridiculous" looks. If you know Kyle, you know which one I mean. Anyway, let me explain myself. As most of you know, I have a weird philosophy. If one thing goes bad in a day then the whole day is going to end up bad. For example, if you are late to school and get detention, and then later in the day you have a test, you can expect to fail the test. The events in your life are just so intertwined that everything else will go wrong. It is also the same if things are good. If you find out good news in the morning, you can expect that other good things will come throughout the day. Why does this mean I was Jewish? Well, Jews believe that Sabbath starts on the evening of Friday, when the sun sets, and I similarly believe that new days, at least when it comes to luck, begin at sundown. You see yesterday, I posted before the sun went down. The day pretty much sucked, and then when the sun started to set, things became so much better. So yesterday from about 8pm until now, life has been good. This is all because of the amazing people I have in my life, my friends. It all started when the Davis girls, my sisters, came over for dinner yesterday. We discussed Comic con, and watched what life would be like in 2100 (Kyle and Michelle got very into it, Kirstin and I just laughed at them), looked up pictures of pregnant snakes, and surprise surprise, played Sims 3 (thanks to my mother's laptop). My bad mood disappeared with their help.
Then, this morning, my friends saved the day again. Jacob greeted me twice today with giant bear hugs. My photo friends, girls I was scared to have a class with in the beginning of the year, made me realize how much I would miss our bizarre conversations. My friends from Pre-Calc made Most Likely To statements about me, which were all very funny. Then, in yearbook, Lindsay, my Cece, brought so much sunshine to my day, I didn't even remember the clouds outside. Believe me, you will laugh too if you read her lengthy comment on the previous post. I dare all of you to beat the length of her comment.
I socialized with my freshman friends at my Sudan Club end of the year party, and then I headed out on my journey home. While I was walking, a girl from my Chemistry class, someone who I don't really like and rarely ever agree with, pulled over and offered me a ride home. As she dropped me off at my house she yelled out the window, "Don't tell anyone I am nice!"
This reminds me of a quote from some dead president that says," I don't like them. I need to get to know them better." Ask my next-door neighbor Patrick if you want to know the exact quote!!
Overall, I am extremely humbled today by the amount of love I have been shown. Thank you to all of my friends out there. You have all touched my life, and I am proud to know you all.

ReplyDeleteSo I checked at 8:30 and you hadn't posted today yet. You are lame! Anyway, I totally know the look that you are talking about, and I am disappointed in you and Kyle and Chella and Kirstin for spending your time playing Sims. Can't wait to see you tomorrow!!!! Have a good first day of summer!
ReplyDeleteMichaela: we didn't spend our time playing sims, Brenna did, Michelle and I watched a very interesting TV program.
ReplyDeleteBoo face: just because you believe that the day begins and ends at sundown doesn't mean your Jewish. This understanding of time is indicative of many if not most ancient cultures. So you are not part Jewish nor were you Jewish in your past life. Rather you look at time in a similar was as a majority of people 2000 years ago...you been schooled.
Lol, I have to agree with Kyle that there is no hard evidence that you are Jewish. I also agree with Kyle that we were watching a very interesting TV program, and my dignity is not marred in any way by the fact that you and Kirstin were laughing at us. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis was a sweet post -- friends have literally saved my life, and nothing will ever replace my best friends. So, I think you are fortunate to have realized the value of true friends early in life, because you just need them more and more as life goes on.
I think that is hilarious what that girl said to you when she drove off! Sounds like something from "Mean Girls." :)
